Horror Movie Reviews - I Am Legend And More

I Am Legend

Will Ian Smith stars as the possibly last adult male on Earth after a virus have turned everybody into raging zombie-like creatures. This Richard Matheson narrative have been filmed before as "The Omega Man" with Charlton Heston. This is not a large action bonanza, but rather an bosom film about loneliness. There are some good touching scenes in a bare New York. Unfortunately the CGI animals look pretty bogus - like Gollum on steroids. Grade: 3 out of 5

Apartment 1303

Standard Asiatic shade horror. A miss looks into why her sister committed self-destruction by jumping from the balcony of flat 1303. And yes, once again we have got a shade with long hair. Some cool scenes, but it's just not enough. There are better Asiatic horror movies out there. Grade: 2 out of 5

30 Days Of Night

I don't like lamia movies. With that said I have got to acknowledge that I actually enjoyed this movie. The scene is creepy as a little Alaskan town is plunged into 30 years of darkness. And the sheriff played by Josh Hartnett have to support the miss he loves against blood craving vampires. Get ready for blood, slaughter and somewhat chilling vampires. The termination suited the film well. Grade: 3 out of 5

Solstice

Ghost thriller without any existent suspense. This is an American refashion of the Danish thriller "Midsommer." A teen miss seeks to bring out the secret behind her twin sister's suicide. This is a film that expressions and Acts like it's going to be good, but unfortunately it's not. And the "big" uncover at the end is nil particular either. Grade: 2 out of 5

The Black House

Fairly original (at least the first half) Asiatic psychopath-horror. An coverage agent suspects a adult male have killed his ain boy to accumulate the coverage money. The agent looks into and happens out the atrocious truth. "The Black House" is slow and a spot creepy. The movie's subject is: "what is human?" A good inquiry indeed. Pretty solid horror movie. Grade: 3 out of 5

Saint Ange/House Of Voices

Low-key Gallic horror/drama. A cleansing adult female gets at an abandoned orphanage. Soon she detects it's haunted by the voices of children. The film have great atmosphere, and is hauntingly beautiful. Unfortunately the book is weak, and there's not much departure on - nil chilling anyway. Grade: 2 out of 5

Movies are not about the weekend that they're released, and in the grand scheme of things, that's probably the most unimportant time of a film's life.
