Purdue gets $2.5M cancer research gift

West LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue University will have a $2.5 million gift to make a chair in clinical malignant neoplastic disease research and monetary fund scholarships for pupils pursuing callings in science.

Simon Peter and Wisecrack Kay, both of Cincinnati, will donate a $2 million for the malignant neoplastic disease research gift and $500,000 to the university's mentorship and scholarship programme for Capital Of Indiana Populace School pupils called Science Bound, the university said.

The gift was announced Lord'S Day in Naples, Fla., astatine a dinner for Purdue's President's Council, which is composed of alumni who financially back up the university. The Kays are co-chairs for the group.

Peter Kay received his doctor's degree in chemical science from Purdue in 1966. He spent his calling at Picker International, Harshaw Chemical, DuPont and Strategic Management, a consulting grouping he founded. His married woman worked for Dow Chemical Co. and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.

The Science Jump programme wise men pupils in classes 8-12, encouraging them to prosecute callings in science, engineering and technology, and offerings full-tuition scholarships for those who prosecute callings in those fields.
